Stand Up to Bullying.
Some things are worth speaking up about. This month's featured cause is anti-bullying.

Dolly’s Rule
“You don’t have to agree with everybody. You do have to treat everybody like a human being.”
Whether bullying happens in school, at work, online, or somewhere else, nobody should have to face it alone. Listening, showing kindness, and speaking up can make a difference.
Dolly Wants You to Know: Bullying Isn’t Always What You Think! 💗
Listen up, detectives! Bullying doesn’t always come with a shove in the hallway. Sometimes it comes through a phone screen, a whispered rumor, or someone deliberately making another person feel unwelcome. It can happen to kids and adults alike.
What Can Bullying Look Like?
- Name-calling and insults: Hurtful names or comments about someone’s appearance or abilities.
- Pushing, shoving, or hitting: Physical intimidation or harm.
- Cyberbullying: Cruel messages, humiliating posts, or online pile-ons.
- Harassing calls or texts: Repeated unwanted contact meant to frighten or upset someone.
- Spreading rumors: Gossip or lies meant to hurt a person’s reputation.
- Deliberate exclusion: Repeatedly isolating someone to embarrass or hurt them.
- Recruiting others: Encouraging friends or groups to gang up on someone.
- Threats and intimidation: Trying to control someone through fear.
- Mocking differences: Targeting someone’s disability, clothing, background, interests, or way of speaking.
- Public humiliation: Deliberately embarrassing someone at school, work, or online.
- Fake accounts and impersonation: Pretending to be someone else to harass or humiliate.
Not every disagreement or isolated unkind comment is bullying, but harmful behavior still deserves attention. Repeated targeting and a power imbalance are common signs of bullying.
Dolly’s Advice for Being a Better Friend
You don’t have to like everybody. You don’t have to agree with everybody. But everybody deserves respect. If you see someone being bullied, don’t join the audience. Check on them, offer support, and tell someone who can help when it’s safe.
Being a good friend doesn’t require a detective’s license. Just a little courage and a decent heart. 💗
Need Someone to Talk To?
In the United States, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. It's available 24/7 for emotional distress, mental health crises, and suicidal thoughts. You do not have to be suicidal to reach out.
If someone is in immediate danger, call 911.
Let’s Talk About It 💗
Share your experiences and support each other. You can describe bullying you have experienced without being treated as a bully yourself.
